A Score Based Test for Functional Linear Concurrent Regression

نویسندگان

چکیده

A novel method for testing the null hypothesis of no effect a covariate on response is proposed in functional linear concurrent regression. An equivalent random effects formulation regression model established under which problem reduces to zero variance component effects. For this purpose, one-sided score test approach used, an extension classical test. Theoretical justification provided as why procedure has correct levels (asymptotically) using standard assumptions. Using numerical simulations, shown have desired type I error rate and higher power compared bootstrapped F currently existing literature. The give good performances even when data are sparsely observed, contaminated with noise. Applications demonstrated gait study child mortality.

abstract type-ii fuzzy logic has shown its superiority over traditional fuzzy logic when dealing with uncertainty. type-ii fuzzy logic controllers are however newer and more promising approaches that have been recently applied to various fields due to their significant contribution especially when the noise (as an important instance of uncertainty) emerges. during the design of type- i fuz...

Local Linear Functional Regression based on Weighted Distance-Based Regression

We consider the problem of nonparametrically predicting a scalar response variable y from a functional predictor χ. We have n observations (χi, yi) and we assign a weight wi ∝ K (d(χ, χi)/h) to each χi, where d( · , · ) is a semi-metric, K is a kernel function and h is the bandwidth. Then we fit a Weighted (Linear) Distance-Based Regression, where the weights are as above and the distances are ...

Concurrent test for digital linear systems

Invariant-based concurrent test schemes can provide economical solutions to the problem of concurrent error detection. An invariant-based concurrent error-detection scheme for linear digital systems is proposed. The cost of concurrent error-detection hardware is appreciably reduced due to utilization of a time-extended invariant, which extends the error-checking computation over time and, thus,...

Distance-based local linear regression for functional predictors

The problem of nonparametrically predicting a scalar response variable from a functional predictor is considered. A sample of pairs (functional predictor and response) is observed. When predicting the response for a new functional predictor value, a semi-metric is used to compute the distances between the new and the previously observed functional predictors. Then each pair in the original samp...

Weighted functional linear regression models for gene-based association analysis

Functional linear regression models are effectively used in gene-based association analysis of complex traits. These models combine information about individual genetic variants, taking into account their positions and reducing the influence of noise and/or observation errors. To increase the power of methods, where several differently informative components are combined, weights are introduced...
